Real-time Maps on the GCM Travel Site
The maps on this site are created from data provided by a variety of sources including the Illinois DOT, Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, Wisconsin DOT, Indiana DOT, and Michigan DOT.
The maps can be scrolled and zoomed to allow you to view the area in which you are interested. Information on the maps is displayed in layers, e.g. there are layers for message signs, cameras, and road labels and shields. Layers can be displayed or hidden to allow you to focus on the information you find useful. You can click on the map for more information about the icon or feature on which you have clicked. Click on the "Map Navigator" at the upper left of the map page to center the larger map on the point at which you clicked. See the Map Help page for more information on using the maps.
The GCM Travel home page displays a map that stores the area displayed and the visible layers in a cookie on your browser. When you return to the GCM Travel home page or select "My Map" from the "Maps" menu, the map will display that area.
The "Maps" menu includes menu items that initially display an interactive map of a predefined area. These maps maps can be scrolled, zoomed, etc. but the map configuarion is not saved. There are maps for:
