Overnight Ramp Closure on from WB I-90 to SB Tri-State Tollway (I-294) SB

The ramp from WB I-190 to SB I-294 will close overnight on Saturday, September 6, to remove bridge beams as work continues to rehabilitate the bridge. The ramp will close after midnight and is scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. on Sunday, September 7. The SB entrance ramp has been closed to trucks since late June and cars will be directed to follow the truck detour during this temporary closure. Traffic will be directed to continue west on I-190 to Mannheim Road South, and re-enter I-190 EB to reach the SB entrance to I-294. Trucks will be directed to continue to follow the detour through late fall.

Saturday Night Traffic Shift Scheduled for Tri-State Tollway in Illinois

An overnight traffic shift is scheduled on Saturday, September 6, for the Tri-State Tollway between Lake Cook Rd and Sanders Rd, shifting the two SB Local Lanes onto new pavement on the right shoulder and right lane. The Express Lane will remain in place on the NB side of the road. One SB lane will close at 7 p.m. between Deerfield Rd and Lake Cook Rd. A second lane between Deerfield Rd and Lake Cook Rd, and one lane from Lake Cook Rd to Sanders Rd, will close at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on Sunday, September 7. If weather should impact this work it will be rescheduled on Monday, September 8.

Traffic Shift on Tri-State Tollway at Lake Cook Road

Off-peak closures are scheduled on Lake Cook Rd over I-294 for a traffic shift on Friday, September 5. One EB lane will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to shift EB traffic north onto new pavement over I-294. West of I-294 EB traffic will be on temporary pavement. Traffic will remain in this configuration through the end of the year.

I-65 lane and ramps to I-80/94 restricted Sep 4-5

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces ramp closures and lane restrictions are planned for the interchange of I-65 and I-80/94 in Gary Sept. 4-5. This work is in relation to the Major Moves New Construction Interchange Modification project at I-65 and I-80/94 (the Frank Borman Expressway).

The restrictions include:

-Between midnight and 5 a.m. Sept. 4-5, the ramp from NB I-65 to WB I-80/94 will be closed while beams are set for the new SB I-65 bridge overhead.

-Between 9 p.m. and midnight the night of Sept. 4, the right lane of the ramp from EB I-80/94 to SB I-65 will be closed during the installation of a cantilever sign.

-Between midnight and 5 a.m. Sept. 5, there will be one 20-minute closure of NB I-65 at Ridge Road during the installation of an overhead sign truss.

During the ramp closures, a posted detour will direct I-65 traffic to take EB I-80/94 to the clover leaf ramps at State Rd 51 (Ripley St) to I-80/94 west.

Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) Long Term Closure

Long-term closures for shoulder removal and erosion control work will begin WB between Ashton Rd and Whitney Rd and EB between Robbins Rd and Midway Rd at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 5. The closures are scheduled to be in place through late fall.

Nighttime restrictions continue on I-80/94 in Indiana during Major Moves construction

Various nighttime restrictions on I-80/94 between Martin Luther King Dr and Central Ave are continuing for the next several months. Beginning at 9 p.m. each working night, crews are restricting various lanes on EB or WB I-80/94. Between midnight and 5 a.m. some nights, crews are closing the roadway for up to 20 minutes at a time during overhead bridge work. Indiana State Police are on hand to help direct traffic through the rolling closures.

Patching Work scheduled for IL-53 from Rand to Lake Cook in Illinois Until October 31

A patching and resurfacing project will begin August 22 in both directions (NB and SB) of Illinois Route 53 from Rand Road to Lake-Cook Road. There will nightly lane closures. Drivers should also expect a single lane to be closed each weekend for this work (except Labor Day weekend). The completion date for this project is October 31. Illinois Department of Transportation
